You don’t need a magic to disappear. All you need is a destination. But, who you can travel with is more important than your destination.
When did the last time you did your first time?
This was my first time, ups, I mean this was our first time doing traveling. 350 miles away from home and without travel guide or travel agent. I’ve just realized how dare we were at that time (FYI, All we had are just plane ticket and hotel invoice). That was such an amazing thing when we thought our parents won’t give us permission. Everything seems easy while we’re planning. We just doing net-meet until the day comes.
We chose the super-early morning flight (We had to leave home at 4 !!) so we could spend more time there. After the plane landed safely at airport, as described on an email, we had to take a bus and taxi so we could reach Bangsal Harbor.
On the way there, something unwanted happened. There were just 4 people on the bus. The three of us and a man who looked mountaineer. The driver said that we would sent by his friends. Omg, we didn’t even know where we are, because this wasn’t the bus station. Then the unavoidable argument began to start between the driver, Maya, and Vina (Where’s me? I was listening and waiting their decision lol). And finally, we agreed with the driver. We sent by another driver, but not using bus, we used city car. We called him Pak Uyek. But, oh god, something unwanted happened again. We would sent by his friends, because he should pick his guest up on the airport.
Travel is not just about seeing what’s out there and checking things of your bucket list. It’s about connecting with people you meet along the way. The third driver was younger than Pak Uyek and the bus man. We shared many things about our destination, about the tradition, and he was such a good travel guide! He could speak English very well eventough he’s not graduated from school.
After the looooooong track (But I enjoyed the road as it surrounded by hills, mountain, and sea), we arrived there at 11 am. Alhamdulillah. The next three days we ride around the island, snorkeled the three gili’s, and enjoyed the sea. Like most of people always said, It’s better to look back on life and say “I can’t believe I did that” than to look back and say “I wish I did that”
I love these kind of people, they’re always arguing most of all the time, yet they’re still protecting me like I’m their diamond lol hahaha see you next trip!
